Welcome to Imperial!

The 2012/13 School Year is about to begin and a few changes will be in store for the Soaring Eagles.

First, my name is Mrs. Gigi Kelley and I am your new principal.  You may have seen me flying in and out throughout the summer getting things ready for a fantastic school year ahead.

We have also added new programs to our nest. Beginning this year we have a Transitional Kindergarten, TK to which it is often referred. This program will bring students from different home schools to Imperial for their first year of a two-year program for kindergarten.

We have also added a Kindergarten Special Day Class. This class is designed to help participating students meet their academic goals and bring a special diversity to our school home.

These programs will bring additional enthusiastic staff to Imperial. These credentialed and classified employees will work collaboratively to provide all of our students a terrific educational experience and who foster relationships to support their learning and development.   Considerations for the needs of exceptional learners as well as students with visual impairments are integrated into our school program and contribute to a culture of diversity and support.

We will continue to promote academic excellence and encourage positive character development through the Pyramid of Success.

If you have not yet turned in your registration papers for the 2012/13 School Year, please get them to the office before the first day of school, August 23rd. You can find these important forms by clicking the link “Registration”. Remember these forms are for ALL students, new and returning.

I am so excited to be a part of the family of Eagles and am looking forward to meeting you in the near future.

Sincerely,
Gigi Kelley
Principal

Imperial Elementary School
Located in the lush hills of East Anaheim, students are able to enjoy the panoramic view of the San Bernardino Mountains.
Step Up
Our School wide Best Practices in Instruction are in the use of Step Up to Writing, which provides systematic guidance for students to achieve proper organization and expression in writing and Thinking Maps, advanced graphic organizers that assist students in organizing complex ideas and relationships.
Tiled Wall
Our staff, families, and community members decorated their own tiles to represent their dedication to our school.
Media Center
The Media Center is where students come to read books, take comprehension quizzes, work on computers and create Powerpoint presentations.

Students receive instruction from their teacher in a very colorful and welcoming classroom.

Imperial students are provided enriching assemblies in Science, Music, and Art throughout the school year. Students are also taught by a professional artist to create a work of their own in the methods they have learned such as these student attempts in the style of Charles Sheeler.

Each week staff, students, and parents join for our Flag Pole Ceremony to say the Pledge of Allegiance, hear grade level songs or performances, and to highlight our character program, Pyramid of Success.
