Dear Sycamore Families,

I am proud and honored to be the principal of such an outstanding elementary school. When your child is a Sycamore Sea Lion, you can be assured that not only is he/she receiving a high quality education, but will be surrounded by adults who truly care about his/her well being. From the first day of school, Sycamore Sea Lions learn how to be: respectful, ready, good decision makers, and problem solvers.

The focus here at Sycamore continues to be on improving student achievement.  We provide a variety of opportunities for students to learn through the use of differentiated instruction to meet individual student needs.  We have a beautiful newly modernized campus with a wealth of technology in each classroom such as Elmo projectors, SMART boards, computers, and internet connections. In addition we have a state of the art computer lab which is further used to enhance instruction.

Here at Sycamore, we proudly offer after-school opportunities for our students to get extra academic support and enhance learning. The YMCA provides homework help and physical education activities to qualified students. In addition, we also offer tutoring for struggling students to improve their Reading and Math skills.

Sycamore parents are encouraged to be active participants in their child’s education. There are a variety of ways for parents to be involved such as: joining the School Site Council, English Language Advisory Committee, or Parent Teacher Association, learning at our monthly parent library trainings, checking out books weekly at our family library time, and becoming a classroom volunteer.
