Principal's Message

Welcome to the 2015-2016 School Year! I am honored to carry forward the legacy of high achievement, a supportive learning environment, and outstanding community involvement at Villa Park Elementary as your new principal.  I am passionate about fostering a collaborative environment that encourages students, and the adults who engage them, to go beyond what they thought possible. I feel privileged to be entrusted with the leadership of this outstanding school, and I look forward to learning how together we can build upon our successes to promote growth for all students.

I am a proud Bruin, and began my teaching career in Los Angeles and Torrance before joining Orange Unified in 1997. Throughout my 25 year career, I’ve served as an assistant principal, primary and upper elementary teacher, bilingual teacher, GATE teacher, reading specialist, teacher trainer, and coordinator of supplemental programs for parents and students. Each role has given me a distinct perspective how to challenge and nurture diverse students, and how to support their parents and teachers.

My husband and I are long time Orange Unified residents, and are grateful that our two children’s education in Orange Unified prepared them for success in college and career. I am thrilled to lead a school where professionals, parents, and the community members are committed to providing all students the 21st Century learning experiences needed for success from kindergarten to college and beyond.

I welcome your input and as we move forward together for our children.  When you see me on campus or in the community, please take a moment to introduce yourself, or reach out to me via email rlittle@orangeusd.org or phone (714) 997-6281. On behalf of the outstanding Villa Park Elementary staff, I wish you a wonderful school year.
